Chill It Out

 Nothing brings people together,
but good food.

Well, this has been so correctly quoted. Around 85% of the people in this world find happiness in food(facts on me), the rest I don't know what they are doing. I am personally a hugeee foodie and I know you were expecting a food blog.

After getting indulged in the scrumptious Biryani of Jama Masjid let's take a detour to the heart of Delhi Cannaught Place or as we Delhites call it CP. Now, if I start talking about CP it would take a huge blog(hint-hint). Sticking to today's topic The Big Chill CafĂ©.

Check out my Biryani love story here.

I have always been a fan of food but this place just gave it a turn with it's delicious food and such welcoming and chilling  ambiance. Since, no food comes without a story I will recite you the tale of my second most loved place in Delhi.

The Big Chill Cafe

The Big Chill Cafe is a huge chain of cafes spread all across Delhi with outlets in CP, Khan Market and many other places. The place serves commonly enjoyed comforting food like pastas, pizzas, raviolis, shakes, lasagnas and many more. But the prime attraction of the place are the mouthwatering desserts that are a treat to mouth and the 90's ambiance that would make you laugh and take a look around the place.

The sinfully delicious, soft and creamy pastries and cheesecakes are the highlights of the place. The cheesecakes are soft and gets melted down in your mouth as you put it in. The thin textured base totally balances out the soft cream-cheese. Topped with shavings and a thin layer of your topping the cheesecakes are worth the hype.

Getting onto next, with the only thing that has been my constant order since the day I visited is the Mississippi Mud Pie (Yeah, the One where Ross gets tanned xD). My brother recommended this place to us. My mom used to hate chocolates, (Yes, people like her exists), but the day she tasted this she fell in love with it and we have been going back again just for the Mud Pie.
The Mud Pie is a pastry with different levels including a chocolate ice-cream, frozen peanut butter and a crunchy base topped with a generous lavishing hot chocolate that is frozen on top because of the frozen dessert but combines the dish altogether.

Tip: Take all the layers at once to get the best bite.

Moving to the savory section that offers a plethora of choices to choose from. Whether it be the comforting pastas, garlicky spaghettis, aromatic lasagnas or the most comforting pizzas. The place can serve your every demand with it's viand and the aroma of freshly prepared food.

Personal Recommendations:
  1. Mississippi Mud Pie
  2. Chocolate Tiramisu Cake
  3. Banoffee Pie
  4. Penne Mushrooms in Tomato-Cream Sauce
  5. Baked Penne with Broccoli and Mozzarella
  6. Prawn Puttanesca

Biryani Before Babes

Kisi cheez ko shiddat se chaho,
Toh poori kaynath tumhein usse milane mai judd jati hai.

The famous Bollywood quote that translates to: If you wish something with all desire, the whole world will come together and conspire you to achieve it.

Biryani: A rice dish made with Indian spices and condiments, meat and love.

For me my world revolves around Biryani, the Biryani from Jama Masjid(mosque in Delhi). The place is not just known for the oldest, largest and most magnificent mosque in India, but it's also famous for the rich culture revolving around food.

Biryani Before Babes

From tender chicken kebabs, sinfully delicious butter chicken to aromatic biryani, this place can fulfil the demands of every foodie. Apart from the delicious starters and main courses the place offers a magnificent spread of desserts like Mohabbat Ka Sharbat , Gulab Jamuns and Ice-cream Faludas and hence, is the ultimate tourist attraction of Delhi.

My Love Story

Jama Masjid (AlJawahar and Karim's) in particular holds a special place in my heart. Since I am a Biryani lover the place is a paradise for me. Every year on my birthday my parents used to take me to Jama Masjid to get indulged in the piquant taste of the biryani.

What made me attracted even more to the place was the chaos and how everyone there was tied up with the thread of food. Amidst the crowd you could see people talking to each other with kebabs in hands and sharing chicken pieces.

Biryani Before Babes
Because of the pandemic I could not visit to my favourite place on my birthday. But it is truly said that no one can stop you in getting to your love. I went to Jama Masjid with a friend and the first bite of biryani enfolded in my bare hands into my mouth was the most special experience.

So, now you all know how much I am attached to Biryani <3.

Leave down below your favourite dish and food joint below.
