Are happy endings necessary?

Recently while watching a number of series(basically what I do all day), I just realized how major part the end of a series contributes to my mood. I am someone who connects to the whole mood of the series and relates to a level that I feel like I am doing the series.

Yesterday, I completed The Bold Type, and just the thought of the three independent bold characters was soo interesting that I binge watched it(when my bro recharged his account). The characters are designed in a way that you will relate deeply to them especially if you are a girl. And what I related to the most is the magazine and  how gracefully the characters pulled their jobs.

The end of the fourth season left me with this thought(no spoilers), whether I do always look forward to happy endings. This might possibly be the strategy and plot but in general, I always look forward to the happy endings in reel and real life. This is not generally a place where I write about shows but this is something that struck with me and I think would strike most of us, "Are happy endings really happy?"

Are happy endings really happy?

Taking the example from the show, the ending of the season might be happy and satisfied for others but personally I look forward to everyone being happy and in a place where they are satisfied with what they are doing. This is something that has always been daunting for me in personal life too. I look forward to having no endings and even if they occur I want them to be happy.

The fact that I fail to accept the reality and, satisfaction the characters will get in the further future pushes me into a zone where I am constantly contemplating the near future without looking what better is going to come in the next half. And the fact that others respect the ending makes it even harder for me to accept the truth.

Happy endings might look exciting but the reality is that, the Bollywood movies have wrapped us in a bubble of happy endings with families reuniting and the lovers realizing they are meant to be together and so we believe that this will happen in our lives too. And when this doesn't happen we fail to accept the truth and start living in a non-existent cipher world with no truth and courage.

The happy ending bubble

This happy ending bubble has impacted me since really long. I generally don't accept the fact that things can go wrong too and the end is necessary for me to move forward. The not so graceful endings often leave me anxious and so I get into the "DND Zone", which is totally fine btw but when the comprehension that things will remain like this hits it gets weird, really weird...

This is the main reason why I always emphasize on keeping everything closer and eventually that will hurt you. The more you hold on something the more it hurts and the worse the ending gets. It took me a lot of time(still is hard)  to get acquainted with the fact that some endings are meant to be hard and they need to end for a better future because you generally don't look at the far future you will think of what will happen the next minute and so it gets harder.

And so the answer to my question is, NO HAPPY ENDINGS ARE NOT NECCESSARY!

Are happy endings necessary?

KYUNKI AASMAN ZARURI HAI!

It is totally fine if you are sad by what happened right now. But trust me what will happen next is better than having a happy ending where you are not happy. In the arena where breakups take place on Insta stories it is okay if you cry alone in the bathroom, look at your after cry face and realize how rash yet correct the ending is.

What next to do?

After giving you the relatable content let me share a few things that help me when the endings are not what I expect:

  • Take a deep breath and relax
  • Accept the fact that this HAS HAPPENED(Ik it is easy to say but you can try)
  • Write everything down
  • Talk to someone (friends, journal, strangers)
  • Write, dance, paint, sing, cook, read, listen to songs, watch action movies
  • Stay away from phones. (Social Media is not real)
  • Take yourself out and observe people
  • Spend time with your family(Yes, that helps)
  • Stay away from toxic people(most importantly)
  • Fake it till you make it (Pretend and pull yourself out)
  • Follow me and talk to me @poorvik35@gmail.com

I hope this helps you in some way, and in case I triggered you or said anything wrong I am really sorry <3

Sidney Sheldon Saga Part-I

Sidney Sheldon is one of the most famous and well established writer in the mystery/thriller genre. He is famous for writing mystery/thriller novels revolving around female protagonists(my favv part). The nail biting thriller moments of mystery combined with murder and blood relations will give you thrills while reading.

He is one of my favorite writers as his mysteries will keep you engaged solving them, chasing dreams and criminals giving a realistic yet exhilarating view on life and death. I have read around five novels by him and while reading all of them I always looked forward to solving crimes alongside the lives of the protagonists.

One of the major thing that attracts me to his writings is the unpredictability. At one moment you will be thinking that the criminal is the husband and the next moment you would discover the wife becomes the criminal(not a spoiler guys). The female dominance breaks the monotonous male dominating detective side. Each story is woven in a way that would excite you to read further.

Sharing with you all the first part of Sidney Sheldon Saga:

Are you afraid of the dark?

Rating:⭐⭐⭐⭐
Genre: Thriller

The story revolves around the death of four people and two women who are the wives of two of the killed men. The suspicious deaths of the men revolves around the mystery of a machine linked to a powerful tank by Tanner Kingsley.

The greed for power and money can make a man kill anyone and this fact is well established through the book. The revelation of truths come with attacks and terror that makes the book even more interesting. The two women fights to get justice for their husbands and thus, events unfolds further in a shocking and terrifying manner.

Chill It Out

 Nothing brings people together,
but good food.

Well, this has been so correctly quoted. Around 85% of the people in this world find happiness in food(facts on me), the rest I don't know what they are doing. I am personally a hugeee foodie and I know you were expecting a food blog.

After getting indulged in the scrumptious Biryani of Jama Masjid let's take a detour to the heart of Delhi Cannaught Place or as we Delhites call it CP. Now, if I start talking about CP it would take a huge blog(hint-hint). Sticking to today's topic The Big Chill Café.

Check out my Biryani love story here.

I have always been a fan of food but this place just gave it a turn with it's delicious food and such welcoming and chilling  ambiance. Since, no food comes without a story I will recite you the tale of my second most loved place in Delhi.

The Big Chill Cafe

The Big Chill Cafe is a huge chain of cafes spread all across Delhi with outlets in CP, Khan Market and many other places. The place serves commonly enjoyed comforting food like pastas, pizzas, raviolis, shakes, lasagnas and many more. But the prime attraction of the place are the mouthwatering desserts that are a treat to mouth and the 90's ambiance that would make you laugh and take a look around the place.

The sinfully delicious, soft and creamy pastries and cheesecakes are the highlights of the place. The cheesecakes are soft and gets melted down in your mouth as you put it in. The thin textured base totally balances out the soft cream-cheese. Topped with shavings and a thin layer of your topping the cheesecakes are worth the hype.

Getting onto next, with the only thing that has been my constant order since the day I visited is the Mississippi Mud Pie (Yeah, the One where Ross gets tanned xD). My brother recommended this place to us. My mom used to hate chocolates, (Yes, people like her exists), but the day she tasted this she fell in love with it and we have been going back again just for the Mud Pie.
The Mud Pie is a pastry with different levels including a chocolate ice-cream, frozen peanut butter and a crunchy base topped with a generous lavishing hot chocolate that is frozen on top because of the frozen dessert but combines the dish altogether.

Tip: Take all the layers at once to get the best bite.

Moving to the savory section that offers a plethora of choices to choose from. Whether it be the comforting pastas, garlicky spaghettis, aromatic lasagnas or the most comforting pizzas. The place can serve your every demand with it's viand and the aroma of freshly prepared food.

Personal Recommendations:
  1. Mississippi Mud Pie
  2. Chocolate Tiramisu Cake
  3. Banoffee Pie
  4. Penne Mushrooms in Tomato-Cream Sauce
  5. Baked Penne with Broccoli and Mozzarella
  6. Prawn Puttanesca

Becoming By Michelle Obama

Rating:⭐⭐⭐⭐✫
Genre: Memoir

Michelle Obama has always been an inspiration for me and for all the women out there. She has stood proudly with her identity and her work. She is an American attorney and an author who left her mark on the society by being the First African-American lady of the United States

The book "Becoming" is a memoir of a daughter, wife, mother, activist, lawyer and most importantly one of the leading women in the world. The book is primarily divided into three parts. The length might seem too much for some people but once you start reading it, you will get hooked up to how beautifully the thoughts and facts of a growing woman have been woven together.

First Part

To Love and Cherish your Beloved.

The first part of the book talks about Michelle Obama's life as a teen. The obvious love affairs, anxiety and curiosity experienced by teenagers(I still experience it :D). The main role in carving her as the woman she is now is of her family. They taught her humanity and most importantly how to respect everyone.

The fact that she courageously faces all her problems and sees them as a chance to improve herself rather than being anxious about them is something that left a huge impact on me. As a human, we all make mistakes but what is important is how we overcome them with confidence fearlessly.

Note: Even if you fail, just remember you tried and learn from it to strike back harder.

Second Part

The second part is based on her journey of finding her partner. By the time she passed school, she had dated a few guys and she never expected the next one would be the best one. As a part of growing, she learnt how amiably Barack Obama would show affection to her.

At first, it was difficult for the two to keep a track of their family time but with time they grew and graduated to "BECOMING US". The journey was challenging but taught them some of the most amazing lessons.

Note: Never ever lose your OWN identity.

Third Part

The last part of Becoming talks about the struggle of being the "Presidents' Wife". It shows the change in Obama family's life when they were under surveillance and were guarded everytime. It shows Barack Obama's journey in becoming the President of US.

Note: Be grateful for even the smallest thing in your life.

Personal views

I personally loved the book. The idea of getting into the personal life and learning so much about your role model is really attractive to me. The book is bold, independent and inspiring. If you know me personally know how much I love knowing and grasping the best lessons from people's life.

Do Share how you the book treated you or leave book recommendations(PLEASE) in the comment section below <3.

Biryani Before Babes

Kisi cheez ko shiddat se chaho,
Toh poori kaynath tumhein usse milane mai judd jati hai.

The famous Bollywood quote that translates to: If you wish something with all desire, the whole world will come together and conspire you to achieve it.

Biryani: A rice dish made with Indian spices and condiments, meat and love.

For me my world revolves around Biryani, the Biryani from Jama Masjid(mosque in Delhi). The place is not just known for the oldest, largest and most magnificent mosque in India, but it's also famous for the rich culture revolving around food.

Biryani Before Babes

From tender chicken kebabs, sinfully delicious butter chicken to aromatic biryani, this place can fulfil the demands of every foodie. Apart from the delicious starters and main courses the place offers a magnificent spread of desserts like Mohabbat Ka Sharbat , Gulab Jamuns and Ice-cream Faludas and hence, is the ultimate tourist attraction of Delhi.

My Love Story

Jama Masjid (AlJawahar and Karim's) in particular holds a special place in my heart. Since I am a Biryani lover the place is a paradise for me. Every year on my birthday my parents used to take me to Jama Masjid to get indulged in the piquant taste of the biryani.

What made me attracted even more to the place was the chaos and how everyone there was tied up with the thread of food. Amidst the crowd you could see people talking to each other with kebabs in hands and sharing chicken pieces.

Biryani Before Babes
Because of the pandemic I could not visit to my favourite place on my birthday. But it is truly said that no one can stop you in getting to your love. I went to Jama Masjid with a friend and the first bite of biryani enfolded in my bare hands into my mouth was the most special experience.

So, now you all know how much I am attached to Biryani <3.

Leave down below your favourite dish and food joint below.
